The Peter Chapple-Hyam-trained filly beat Mother Jones to go down in yearling bonus history as the first three-year-old winner of a £10,000 payout. Another 34 races in Britain have a three-year-old yearling bonus attached while a further five three-year-old bonuses are available in Ireland.

Chapple-Hyam had been plotting to run the daughter of Dubawi in this maiden for some time. He told Attheraces: "She ran well on her only start at Kempton last year and this has been the plan for a while as it was a yearling bonus race.

"I thought coming here today I'd win it although there were a few fancied ones. It could be a decent enough race."

A 25,000 yearling purchase by M L Browne at Book 2 of Tattersalls October Sale, Sand Owl was bought by current connections through McKeever Bloodstock for 30,000gns at last year's Tattersalls Craven Breeze-up.

Bred by Executive Bloodlines, she is a half-sister to three winners and out of Midnight Allure, a winning Aragon sister to Group 3 scorer Midnight Escape.

Midnight Allure's two-year-old colt by Shamardal is catalogued as lot 142 at the upcoming Tattersalls Craven Breeze-up.
