Samantha Miss to go under the hammer

STAR Australian filly Samantha Miss is the latest high-profile name to be confirmed as an entry for the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale, to be held on the Gold Coast in Australia in June.

Other top-flight performers to have been entered for the auction in recent weeks include Queensland Oaks heroine Eskimo Queen, a daughter of Shinko King, and the twice Group 1-placed Show A Heart mare Mimi Lebrock.

A daughter of Redoute's Choice, Samantha Miss has won seven races and finished placed four times from 12 starts.  She captured five Group races at three, including the Flight Stakes and VRC Oaks for a Group 1 double.

The filly, who cost her trainer Kris Lees A$1.5 million as a yearling, was also top-class at two, ending the triple crown hopes of Golden Slipper winner Sebring by landing the Champagne Stakes.

Magic Millions managing director David Chester said: "We're thrilled to have the opportunity to offer a filly of her quality. Never before has a jewel in the crown like Samantha Miss been up for grabs.

"She's a Classic looker and a Classic performer. She'd be the jewel of any breeding crown in seasons to come. As a racehorse fillies don't come any better than Samantha Miss. She's won Group races from 1,200 to 2,500 metres.

"To have been entrusted with offering a prospect like Samantha Miss is a major compliment for Magic Millions."
