Sakhee to stand at Yorton Farm next season

SAKHEE is to switch from his Shadwell base to stand at Yorton Farm in Shropshire for the 2013 season.

The Juddmonte International Stakes and Arc winner retired to stud in 2003  having also finished second in the Breeders' Cup Classic.

The son of Bahri and Group 2 winner Thawakib is the sire of  three Group 1 winners: Sakhee's Secret, Tin Horse and Presvis.

Shadwell Stud director Richard Lancaster said: “We believe that Yorton Farm can give Sakhee the chance to further prove his ability to get a top class horse under both codes.

"David and Theresa Futter have a very professional operation which will give Sakhee  every chance and I am sure that he will be very popular with breeders.”

David Futter said: "Sakhee was  a top-class racehorse and has sired Group 1 winners on the flat and a Grade 1 winner over hurdles [Grumeti]. He is a welcome addition to Yorton Farm’s current stallion roster which include promising young National Hunt stallions Sulamani and Malinas.”

Sakhee will stand at a fee of  £2,500, October 1 terms.
