Girsonfield welcomes first Bahri foals

GIRSONFIELD Stud in Northumberland on Saturday welcomed the first foals by Bahri, who moved there last year after beginning his stud career under the Shadwell banner at Kentucky and then Derrinstown in County Kildare.

First born was a filly out of the maiden mare Toarmandowithlove, a daughter of Choisir.

She was followed within 24 hours by a colt out of another Daylami mare, Amouretta.

Amouretta is the dam of Granny McPhee, who is also by Bahri and has won seven races.

A 20-year-old son of Riverman, Bahri won the St James's Palace Stakes and Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at three. He is the sire of Arc hero Sakhee and smart sprinter Redford and his best jumps offspring are multiple winners Gilbarry and Trompette.

Bahri stands at Girsonfield alongside triple Group/Grade 1 winner Millkom and Ferrule, a winning son of Danehill.
