Second first crop stakes winner for Doyen

YOUNG sire Doyen was represented by his second stakes winner on Thursday when Peacoat landed the Listed Prix Melisandre at Fontainebleau for Sheikh Mohammed and Andre Fabre.

Doyen made it on to the stakes scoresheet in April this year when Lady's Purse won a Listed event at Toulouse. The son of Sadler's Wells is also sire of Western Mystic, a twice Listed-placed colt in Germany, where Doyen stands for €5,000.

Peacoat is the product of the famous Infamy family nurtured by Gerald Leigh until his death in 2007. leigh's bloodstock interests were later purchased by Sheikh Mohammed.

Peacoat's dam, Innuendo, was successful in the Grade 2 Orchid Handicap at Gulfstream Park and the Listed Godolphin Stakes at Newmarket. Peacoat is her second stakes winner following the Grade 2 winner Criticism (by Machiavellian).

Innuendo is a Caerleon daughter of Leigh's Grade 1 Rothman's International and Group 2 Sun Chariot Stakes heroine Infamy. As well as Innuendo, her stud recordincludes Group 2 winner Moon Queen (by Doyen's sire Sadler's Wells) and Group 3 winner Barafamy.

King George winner Doyen spent three seasons at Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket before his transfer to Gestut Auenquelle in 2009.
