Goldford Stud's Kayf Tara colt makes €36,000

FIONA Magee has a return to the Derby Sale in mind for a Kayf Tara colt from Goldford Stud whom she bought for €36,000 after getting the better of Franny Woods.

The grandson of Sadler's Wells is out of the Listed bumper winner Sway the whose siblings are headed by the Grade 1 Sefton Novices Hurdle scorer Stromness.

"I thought that he was a very nice colt and hopefully he'll be back here for the Derby Sale. He's out of a smart mare from a good family and the sire is doing well," Magee said.

Aiden Murphy's first notable purchase of the day came in the shape of a Kalanisi colt offered by Sunnyhill Stud who made €33,000. He is out of an unraced Old Vic half-sister to the Grade 2 Tipperary Hurdle winner Scarthy Lad and the multiple Grade 3-winning mare Grangeclare Lark.

Meanwhile Little Hall Stud spent €30,000 on a Presenting colt consigned by Ballincurrig House Stud. His family goes back to the Aintree winner Shannon Glen and the smart novice hurdler Verrazano Bridge.
