Blame has first two mares confirmed in foal

BREEDERS' Cup Classic winner and champion older male of 2010 Blame has had his first mares confirmed in foal.

Promptly, owned by London Thoroughbred Services and George Strawbridge jr, was first to be scanned in foal. Promptly is an 18-year-old daughterof Lead On Time and has produced Racing Post Trophy second Fantastic View and Superlative Stakes second Weald Park.

Also in foal to Blame is Silk Briefcase, a daughter of Marlin and dam of Grade 2 winner and Grade 1-placed Briecat.

Blame is by Arch out of Liable, a half-sister to Archipenko from the family of Nureyev and Sadler's Wells. He stands for $35,000 at Claiborne Farm.

He became the first and only horse to beat Zenyatta when landing the Breeders' Cup Classic by a head at Churchill Downs on his final start.
