Alberto Giacometti switched to Gruson

ALBERTO Giacometti, winner of the 2002 Criterium de Saint-Cloud for Aidan O'Brien, will stand at Haras du Gruson in the north of France this season, where he will command a fee of €1,500.

The 11-year-old son of Sadler's Wells has spent the past two seasons at Haras de Saint-Voir in Normandy, latterly at a fee of €2,000.

A popular option with AQPS breeders, Alberto Giacometti has enjoyed early success as a sire of jumpers. Members of his first crop, which are five-years-old, have won 14 racesbetween them and include Sous Officier, a dual winner at Auteuil, and Sappo, a recent winner at Pau. He has also sired the winners of 17 races on the Flat.
