Saddex on the move from Germany to France

AFTER the recent deaths of big-hitters Monsun and Tiger Hill, and the earlier sale of Sholokhov, the German stallion ranks have sustained another loss with the transferral of young Sadler's Wells stallion Saddex to France.

Saddex, whose first crop of two-year-olds yielded a first winner when Pure Poison won at Milan this month, will stand at the Haras de Mirande having spent his career to date at Gestüt Westerberg.

Niarchos-bred Saddex hails from the illustrious family of Aldebaran, Chimes Of Freedom and Spinning World.

He was purchased by the FBA for €115,000 as a yearling at Deauville in 2004 and, trained in Germany by Peter Rau, struck twice at the highest level in the Rheinland-Pokal at four and the Premio Presidente della Repubblica one year later.
