Four gunning for yearling bonus

FOUR of the five declared for the EBF Maiden Stakes are eligible for the Racing Post Yearling Bonus scheme.

They are the Compton Place gelding Jawking, Sabusa, owned and bred by Khalifa Dhasmal, Umph, bred by Tally-Ho Stud by their stallion Kodiac, and Kyllasie, a Kyllachy filly bred by Minster Enterprises.

Kyllasie is the forecasted favourite. Sold for £26,000 at the DBS Premier Yearling Sale and is trained by Richard Hannon, she is a sister to useful sprint handicapper Doric Lady.

Doncaster's Bob Beevers Memorial Maiden Stakes for three-year-olds over 1m2f also carries the £10,000 bonus. Eight of the 15 declared are running for the bonus, including the Mark Johnston-trained debutant Tartan Jura.

Bred by Newsells Park Stud, the son of Green Desert is a half-brother to Group 2 winner Soapy Danger out of a US Grade 1 winner. He was bought by his trainer for 65,000gns at Tattersalls October Book 1 of 2009.
