Warwick: Machiavellian Tsar's first runner wins

RUSSE BLANC, a white son of Machiavellian Tsar, made a winning debut in the newcomers' bumper at Warwick for trainer Richard Lee.

Russe Blanc was sold at last year’s DBS Spring Store Sale to his trainer for £8,000, offered by Mill House Stud.

He is one of few runners by his sire, a son of Machiavellian bred by the Niarchos family who was unplaced in four starts on the Flat.

Machiavellian Tsar is a closely related half-brother to the top-class Paul Nicholls-trained jumper Noland.  His first crop are five and he has sired one winner in France from six runners, and this was his first runner in Britain.
