First winner for deceased sire Eyeofthetiger

DECEASED South African sire Eyeofthetiger has been represented by his first winner.

His first-crop son Zhan Hu won a 5f juvenile plate at Kenilworth on Wednesday.

Zhan Hu was bought by the Snaith stable for R20,000 at last year's Equimark Vintage Sale. He is the first foal produced by Colour Burst, a placed daughter of Lizard's Desire's sire Lizard Island from the family of Golden Slipper winner Burst.

Brazilian-bred Eyeofthetiger was the impressive winner of the Durban July in 2006.

He was by Royal Academy and out of the Brazilian Grade 1 winner Indian Chris, a direct female descendent of the great Pretty Polly. He was put down in 2009 after suffering a freak paddock accident.
