Ronaldsay to be covered by Invincible Spirit

RONALDSAY, dam of Royal Ascot winner Gale Force Ten, will be covered by Invincible Spirit this year at the Irish National Stud.

The Kirkwall mare had a colt by Intello this year.

Ronaldsay, who was bred by Bob McCreery's Stowell Hill Stud, won four races for Richard Hannon snr, with her biggest success coming in the Listed Warwickshire Oaks.

The 11-year-old made an exemplary start to her stud career. Her first foal was Gale Force Ten, who topped the DBS Premier Yearling Sale in 2011 at £280,000 before going on to land the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot for Aidan O'Brien.

Gale Force Ten, a son of Oasis Dream, is standing his first season at the Irish National Stud this year for a fee of €5,000.

Ronaldsay has produced one other winner, Offshore, who won at two for James Tate.
