Rock Hard Ten colt leads Keeneland early blows

WEANLINGS proved popular at the start of Thursday’s session of the Keeneland November breeding stock sale. It is the fourth day of the auction and the second day of Book 2.

The top lot so far is a Rock Hard Ten colt who sold to Scott Ford’s Westrock Stables for $300,000. The weanling is out of the unraced Fusaichi Pegasus mare Regard, who is a half-sister to stakes winner Give Notice. Westrock is based in Little Rock, Arkansas. Denali Stud, agent for Berkshire Stud, consigned the weanling.

Immediately after that, a weanling colt by Tapit sold to Ben Glass, agent, for $260,000. The gray or roan colt is out of the winning Mr. Greeley mare Rhumb Line, who is also the dam of Group 2-placed runner Art Princess. He was consigned by Gainesway, agent.

The session-topper on Wednesday came late in the day when multiple stakes winner Lady Alexander sold to Keith and Ginger Myers’ Coteau Grove Farms.

The Louisiana operation paid $410,000 for the four-year-old Exchange Rate filly, who was consigned by Three Chimneys Sales, agent. Lady Alexander was offered as a racing or broodmare prospect, and is slated to remain in training.
