Final foal by
Storm Cat born

THE final foal by Storm Cat was foaled on Thursday at Louise and Kiki's Courtelis' Town and Country Farms in Paris, Kentucky.

The filly, who is the first foal out of the Grade 3-winning Successful Appeal mare Richwoman, is one of only three foals from the final crop of the great sire, who was pensioned at the end of last season by Overbrook Farm due to declining fertility.

"Kiki and I are thrilled to be a part of history," said Louise Courtelis. "Obviously, it is sad to say that she is the last foal of such a remarkable sire, but it gives us a special feeling to know that this beautiful Storm Cat filly carries in her the bloodlines of one the most influential sires of our lifetime."

The 26-year-old Storm Cat, who for six consecutive seasons commanded a fee of $500,000, resides at Overbrook Farm.
