Another new black-type winner for Pivotal

THE John Gosden-trained Rhadegunda capped another good season for her sire Pivotal when gaining her first black-type with a victory in the 1m1f Listed Prix Solitude for three-year-old fillies at Fontainebleau on Friday.

Bred by Hascombe and Valiant Studs and owned by its proprietor Anthony Oppenheimer, Rhadegunda is out of the winning Green Desert mare St Radegund. She is a half-sister to three winners, including the multiple Flat winner and smart hurdler Halla San.

St Radegund's dam was the 1,000 Guineas and Sussex Stakes heroine On The House.

This was quite a step up in form for Rhadegunda, whose last run before the race came when finishing second in a Class 4 Nottingham handicap at the end of October.
