Wolves double caps good weekend for Elusive City

A DAY after siring stakes winner number 11 in Cagnes-Sur-Mer Listed scorer Mixed Intention, Elusive City was to the fore again, albeit at the less glamorous surroundings of Wolverhampton.

GeordieIris and Restless Bay, the stallion's only runners of the afternoon, were each successful in their respective races; Geordie Iris in the 0-75 three-year-old handicap and Restless Bay in the 6f seller.

Not only do both hail from Elusive City's third crop - bred during the first of his three seasons at the Irish National Stud - but they are also graduates of last year's breeze-up sales; Geordie Iris, who is closely related to Tiger Hill, was sold to Peter Doyle for €30,000 at the Arqana May Sale while Restless Bay cost trainer Reg Hollinshead 22,000gns at the Tattersalls Guineas Sale.

Elusive City, who was first past the post in the Prix Morny and Richmond Stakes, sired the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches heroine Elusive Wave in his first crop and is standing this season for €15,000 at Haras d'Etreham.
