Reliable Man: the Prix du Jockey Club winner is a grandson of Fair Salinia


Reliable third Classic winner for Dalakhani

DALAKHANI, resident of the Aga Khan's Gilltown Stud, was represented by his fourth Group 1 winner and third Classic scorer on Sunday when his son Reliable Man landed the Prix du Jockey Club at Chantilly.

Reliable Man - who followed his sire by winning the French Classic - was bred by owner Sven Hanson's NP Bloodstock out of theSadler's Wells mare On Fair Stage, a Listed-winning daughter of his Anglo-Irish Oaks winner Fair Salinia.

Out of Dalakhani's four Group 1 winners, three are out of mares by Sadler's Wells - the others being dual Breeders' Cup Turf hero Conduit and Irish Oaks winner Moonstone. His other top-flight scorer is Chinese White in the Pretty Polly.

Dalakhani could soon get a fifth Group 1 winner on the board judging by another son Baraan'sunlucky in running and fast-finishing third in the Prix du Jockey Club.

Sadler's Wells was also on the mark as a damsire at Chantilly on Sunday with Testosterone in the Group 3 Prix de Royaumont and Immortal Verse in the Group 2 Prix de Sandringham.

Testosterone is a three-year-old daughter of Dansili bred by La Poterie out of Listed-placed Epopee, a sister to smart Ecomium from Juddmonte's brilliant family of Rainbow Quest and Commander In Chief.

Immortal Verse is a Kilfrush Stud-bred three-year-old daughter of Pivotal out of Listed winner Side Of Paradise, a half-sister to brilliant sprinter-miler Last Tycoon out of Kilfrush foundation mare Mill Princess.

Later on the Prix du Jockey Club card, Silver Pond confirmed himself the best European performer by late Nunnery and Wood Farm Stud stallion Act One, with victory in the Group 2 Grand Prix de Chantilly.

Wizz Kid became the third Group-race winner by Haras du Mezeray stallion Whipper, who stood at Ballylinch Stud until this year.

Wizz Kid was bred by Ballylinch out of Listed-placed Lidanski, a daughter of Soviet Star and half-sister to Listed City of York Stakes winner Yaa Wayl, who is also by Whipper.
