Regally-bred Iktibas sires first winner

NORTH Yorkshire-based stallion Iktibas was represented by his first winner at Market Rasen on Sunday when Iktiview scored in a 2m1f handicap hurdle by three lengths.

The Philip Kirby-trained Iktibas is owned and bred by Eastview Thoroughbreds. He is out of the JB Quick mare Eastview Princess.

Iktibas, who has had five runners, stands at Sycamore Farm Stud in Stokesley, North Yorkshire.

He is by outstanding sire Sadler's Wells out of Bint Shadayid, a 1,000 Guineas-placed daughter of Nashwan and 1,000 Guineas heroine Shadayid.

Itkibas's owner Geoff Bonson reports that Iktibas’s offspring are very athletic and worth watching out for in the future.

He said: "I’m so impressed with the quality of his offspring and this stallion could have a very big future. Let’s hope this is just the first of many winners for this young stallion.”
