Group 1 success for Pivotal's Parade

Prix Maurice de Gheest (Group 1), Deauville, 6 1/2f

REGAL PARADE (Pivotal - Model Queen by Kingmambo)

Breeder: Highclere Stud and Harry Herbert

LAST Year's Betfred Sprint Cup hero Regal Parade bagged a second top-level win on Sunday, winning the Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville.

He also provided his sire Pivotal with his second Group win of the weekend after Poet's Rose Of Lancaster Stakes success at Haydock on Saturday.

Regal Parade's third dam, Mofida, is also maternal granddam of Zafonic. He cost 430,000gns from Tattersalls October Book 1, and started his racing career from the stable of Mark Johnston, and carried the colours of Sheikh Mohammed.

He was acquired by Dandy Nicholls for 16,000gns after his three-year-old season, and appears to have benefited from a drop in trip from a mile down to 6f and 7f.
