Sister to Lahaleeb
makes 210,000gns

AGENT Tom Tate went to 210,000gns for the sister to Lahaleeb seeing off a determined challenge from trainer Brian Smart.

A real two-year-old type, the chestnut filly by Redback was offered by Tally-Ho Stud, which bought for her 62,000gns at the Goffs November Foal Sale in 2007.

She became her sire's second-most expensive auctioned offering behind Queen of Scarlet who made 270,000gns in 2006 as a yearling.

Lahaleeb's finest hour to date came when winning the Rockfel Stakes last October.  Trained by Mick Channon, the filly holds entries in the Fred Darling Stakes and in the 1,000 Guineas.

Redback's best filly so far was Gilded who won the Queen Mary Stakes and was bred by Tally-Ho Stud.
