New stakes-winner for Dubawi at Compiegne

EXCITING third-season sire Dubawi got his 31st stakes winner on the board on Monday when his three-year-old son Red Dubawi landed the Listed Prix Pelleas, a 1m2f contest for three-year-olds at Compiegne.

Red Dubawi - who finished second to Mutual Trust on his debut in a Chantilly maiden in May- won by three lengths from Sant'Alberto (Colossus), with Dormello, a Dansili half-brother to 2,000 Guineas third Olympian Odyssey, in third.

Red Dubawi is trained by Alain De Royer-Dupre for Ronald Arculli, best known for racing Haydock Sprint Cup scorer Red Clubs.

He was bought by Seamus Murphy for €75,000 from the consignment of his breeders, the Haras des Sablonnets, at the 2009 Arqana August yearling sale in Deauville. He was withdrawn from last year's Arqana breeze-up sale.

Red Dubawi is the second foal produced by the Listed-winning Homme De Loi mare Maredsous.

Dubawi, a son of DubaiMillennium who stands at Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket at a fee of £55,000, has sired six Group/Grade 1 winners including this year's Deutsches Derby hero Waldpark and Gamely Stakes scorer Dubawi Heights.
