Record breaker Peppers Pride booked to Tiznow

POPULAR mare Peppers Pride, whose string of 19 consecutive race victories is a modern US record, has been retired to paddocks and will be covered by dual Breeders' Cup Classic winner Tiznow.

Bred and owned by Joe Allen, Peppers Pride is a six-year-old daughter of Desert God. Last October she won a claiming race at Zia Park to gain her 17th straight victory, surpassing the previous record of 16 shared by Cigar, Citation, Mister Frisky and Hallowed Dreams.

She went on to win two further races, the last coming in a handicap at Sunland Park in December, to also break the modern international record of 18 straight wins set by Hong Kong superstar Silent Witness.

In the next few weeks Peppers Pride is expected to arrive at Richland Hills Farm in Kentucky ahead of her date with Tiznow.

Tiznow stands at Winstar Farm in Kentucky at a fee of $75,000 in 2009. He sired four individual Grade 1 winners in 2008 – Well Armed, Colonel John, Tough Tiz's Sis and Da' Tara.
