WHILE one of his novice chase sons Thegreatjohnbrowne is on the easy list, Beneficial remains in the spotlight thanks to the victory of Realt Dubh in Leopardstown's Frank Ward Solicitors Arkle Novice Chase.

Beneficial, who stands at Knockhouse Stud, is also sire of Sun Alliance Chase winner Cooldine, and Racing Post Chase winner Gungudu.

Realt Dubh was bought as a four-year-old at Brightwells Cheltenham sale in April 2008 for £90,000 by Mags O'Toole. He is one of two winners out of the Exit To Nowhere mare Suez Canal, who comes from a flat orientated family that features Suez Canal's   Grade 2 winning half-sister Guiza, dam of Man O'War third Drama Critic.
