Lincoln Farm markedly reduces stallion fees

LINCOLN FARM in New South Wales has reduced its fees for both resident stallions this year. Nick Posa stands Ready'sImage and Krupt and the duo will cover mares at the new stud for the second season.

Ready's Image, a son of Vinery stallion More Than Ready who covered mares at Walmac International, Kentucky this year, will cover his third book of south hemisphere mares off a fee of A$6,600, down 40 per cent from A$11,000. The six-year-old raced in the US, winning the Grade 2 Sanford Stakes at Saratoga as a juvenile.

A grandson of Danehill by Flying Spur, Krupt covered his first mares last year, and his fee for 2011 will be A$5,500, down 37.5 per cent from A$8,800.

Posa said: "The respective connections of Ready's Image and Krupt are absolutely determined to give both stallions every chance to succeed and if it means making a sizeable cut from last year's fees, then so be it.

"The timing of Ready's Image's reduction could hardly be better for local broodmare owners. The More Than Ready breed continues to thrive in Australia and clearly the young stallion has a very bright future in the United States going on his very pleasing weanling sale results."
