Le Vie Dei Colori off the mark in Spain

LE VIE DEI COLORI, who stood at Rathbarry Stud until a paddock accident caused his death in May 2008, got off the mark as a sire on Sunday when Bellaside won on her debut at La Zarzuela racecourse in Spain.

The filly is out of the Perugino mare Brockton Saga and hails from the family of Group 1 performers Attraction, Lord Of Men and Her Ladyship. She was sold to MAB Agency for €6,000 at Goffs in February 2008, and was registered as not sold for €7,000 when re-offered at Arqana last October.

A son of Efisio from the family of top juveniles Shining Hour, Declaration Of War and Titian Time, Le Vie Dei Colori raced for his owner-breeders Scuderia Archi Romani. He won 14 of his 24 starts, most notably the Group 1 Premio Vettorio di Capua at three and the Group 2 Challenge Stakes at five.

He left three crops of foals from his career at stud. In his first season he covered 64 mares, in his second he covered 44, and in his third and last season he covered 36.
