Rare sibling one-two in Yarmouth handicap

MINALISA and Peace Seeker led home a rare one-two for siblings at Yarmouth on Monday in the 6f handicap.

Both by Juddmonte's star sire Oasis Dream and out of the Selkirk mare Mina, it was the Rae Guest-trained three-year-old Mianlisa who got on top in the final furlong to deny her year older brother Peace Seeker.

Minalisa, who finished second on her previous start at Pontefract, was bought back at Tattersalls as a yearling for 40,000gns by her owner-breeder Chris Mills. However, Mills sold Peace Seeker as a foal to Yeomanstown Stud at the Tattersalls December Sale for 90,000gns, who resold him as a yearling to Dick O'Gorman for 150,000gns.

Minalisa and Peace Seeker are two of three winners produced by Mina, who was successful over 6f at four. Mina is from the immediate family of top-class sprinter Owington and is a half-sister to the Group 3-winning sprinter Miss Anabaa.
