Queen of Highclere band set for Dubawi date
STAR Highclere Stud mare Model Queen, dam of yesterday's Meydan Listed runner-up Entifaadha, will be covered by Dubawi this season with the hope that the mare produces a filly which can be retained to race.
Entifaadha is one of four stakes runners produced by the daughter of Kingmambo alongside the Group 1-winning sprinter Regal Parade, Group 3-placed Hot Prospect and Listed-placed Mount Helicon.
"Model Queen tends to throw to the sire and it would be great if she produced a Dubawi filly that we could keep," said John Warren of Highclere Stud. "She has a yearling colt by Sea The Stars who is heading to the sales. He's a big, powerful colt who's quite together at this stage - quite like Entifaadha and the mare's two-year-old filly by Cape Cross (who sold for 500,000gns at Tattersalls last October)."

Sea The Stars is the selected mate for Dancing Mirage, dam of the Jersey Stakes winner Ouqba, while heading to Montjeu is the Group 3-placed Don't Forget Faith, a 210,000gns purchase from the Tattersalls December Sale.
Ladeena, a daughter of Dubai Millennium whose New Approach colt sold for 450,000gns to John Ferguson at the Tattersalls OctoberSale, will be covered by Oasis Dream.
New Approach is once again being supported, with the dams of Darasim and Harris Tweed, Darasita and boarder Frog, booked to the Darley stallion.
"Sometimes you have to decide whether to take a chance on an unproven stallion. For me New Approach ticks all the boxes," said Warren. "He was a champion, is by a champion and out of a champion in Park Express, who I bought on behalf of Paddy and Seamus Burns as a yearling. So I have a bit of a soft spot for the family."
Highclere are also sending 12 mares to resident stallion Paco Boy, among them Lingfield Oaks Trial heroine Birdie, Ravine, the dam of July Stakes winner Captain Hurricane, and Carafe, a daughter of Falmouth Stakes winner Caramba.
"We're thrilled with the feedback we've had about Paco Boy's first foals," said Warren. "Obviously we were always going to support him this year but it becomes that bit better when there's some chat about the foals."
Tarfah, the dam of Racing Post Trophy winner Camelot whom Highclere boards on behalf of Sheikh Abdulla Bin Isa Al-Khalifa, is heading to Oasis Dream as is maiden Pink Symphony, winner of the Give Thanks Stakes for Fitri Hay last season.
Joining Model Queen in Dubawi's book is the Duke of Devonshire's Request, the dam of dual Group 1 winner Ask, while Sheikh Abdulla Bin Isa Al-Khalifa's Miss Queen, the dam of Flying Childers Stakes winner Chateau Istana, will be covered by Pivotal after foaling to Paco Boy.
