Punchestown receives go-ahead for airshow

PUNCHESTOWN racecourse has been given the conditional go-ahead to stage the air show on June 6 and 7 whichhas attracted safety concerns from studs in the Kildare area.

Kildare County Council had received a number of objections from local studs, thought to include Gilltown and Derrinstown.

A condition of the air show going ahead has been that "the promoter shall appoint a suitable qualified veterinary consultant who shall identifiy all equine establishments that will be materially affected by the event.

"The consultant shall also liaise with and advise the owner/operators of the affected equine establishments. The promoter shall have due regard to the advice of the above consultant in relation to the staging/managment of the event."
