Mi Sueno breaks
maiden in style

MI SUENO, the first foal out of Ashland Stakes winner Madcap Escapade and the top-priced weanling of the 2007 Keeneland November Sale, broke her maiden in extravagant style on Friday when storming to a seven-length score in the Grade 3 Sorrento Stakes at Del Mar.

The daughter of Pulpit is trained by Eric Guillot on behalf of Southern Equine Stables, who went to a sales-topping $1.7m to buy out their partners in the filly at Keeneland in 2007.

At the corresponding sale a year earlier, a partnership comprising of John Sikura of Hill 'n' Dale Farm and Southern Equine Stables had purchased Madcap Escapade carrying Mi Sueno for a sale-topping $6m.

Sikura bought out his partners in the eight-year-old daughter of Hennessy for $3.1m at last year's Fasig-Tipton November Sale.

Madcap Escapade has a yearling colt by A P Indy.

Mi Sueno is the fourth stakes winner by Claiborne Farm's Pulpit this season. The son of A P Indy stands for $80,000.
