Proven sire Repent returns to Florida

GRADE 2 winner Repent, who ran second to Johannesburg in the 2001 Breeders' Cup Juvenile, will return to Cloverleaf II Farm in Florida next season, where he will stand alongside his son, the newly retired Crown of Thorns.

The son of Louis Quatorze will stand for $3,000 while a first year fee of $4,000 has been set for Grade 2 winner Crown Of Thorns.

Repent stood at Cloverleaf II Farm from 2004 until 2008, when he was switched to Vinery South in Florida. He was available to Kentucky breeders under the Vinery banner in 2009 and has spent the past two seasons standing with Vinery in New York.

He is the sire of 18 stakes winners topped by Breeders' Cup Sprint runner-upCrown Of Thorns.

"We are excited about Repent's homecoming at CloverLeaf and believe he will be a leading sire in Florida for many years to come," said John Sykes, owner of CloverLeaf Farms II.

"It is absolutely vital to note that all of his success at stud up to this point has come from Florida mares, including his leading 2011 crop of two-year-olds that are sure to be exciting three-year-olds next year. So we feel that Repent is returning at the right time and will offer Florida breeders great value in 2012."
