Promising Frost Giant moves studs in New York

KEANE STUD in New York will stand Frost Giant, a promising freshman sire son of Giant's Causeway, next year.

Frost Giant won the Killavullan Stakes and Kilternan Stakes for Aidan O'Brien before being transferred to America, where he landed the Grade 1 Suburban Handicap.

Having begun his stud career at Empire Farm and Vinery in New York, Frost Giant is New York's leading first-season sire and is sixth overall in America.

His first crop has produced the stakes winner West Hills Giant and the stakes-placed Zekes Surprise.

Keane Stud manager Winslow Stevens said: "We are proud
to announce the addition of such a popular young sire to our stallion roster.

"Frost Giant was a Group winner at two and three in Ireland and a New York Grade 1 winner on dirt. He certainly appears to be passing on his precocity and versatility to his runners."

Frost Giant's stud fee has been set at $7,500 for next year.
