Promising French sire Forestier switches studs

PROMISING young French sire Forestier has been switched from the Haras du Hoguenet in Normandy to the Harasas National de Gelos, near Pau.

Forestier's oldest crop are five and his early flagbearers are Listed winner Foresta and Marcus De La Borie, who was Listed-placed at Auteeuil.

Forestier was a high-class stayer on the Flat, beating Westerner to win the 2004 Prix Vicomtesse Vigier and landing the Group 2 Prix Maurice de Nieuil in the same year.

His appeal as a jumps sire is heightened by the fact he is by Nikos, who also supplied top-class chasers Cenkos, Nakir and Master Minded.

Forestier, who is being managed by Jean-Pierre Deroubaix, will stand at a fee of €1,000, or €800 for AQPS horses.
