Prime Defender: The son of Bertolini is now a Group 2 winner

New Group 2 winner for Bertolini

BERTOLINI scored a Group 2 win as a sire when Prime Defender landed the Duke Of York Stakes over 6f at York on Wednesday.

The Darley-owned son of Danzig has Group 1-winning juvenile filly Donna Blini and Moorhouse Lad, second in the Prix de l'Abbaye on his roll of honour. He has now sired aGroup 1 winner, a Group 2 winner and a Group 3 winner in Britain, and also in New Zealand.

Prime Defender is a half-brother to three maidens, and has a sister, Hapipi who was unraced despite being put into training with Barry Hills.

He stands at Overbuy Stud at a fee of £4,000.
