Powerscourt daughter tops Peruvian sale

A DAUGHTER of former Coolmore resident Powerscourt topped the Haras Los Azahares, Haras San Pablo and Haras El Centaur yearling sale of imported North American-bred yearlings on Saturday at Lima's Hipodromo de Monterrico Manuel Checa Solari exhibition pavilion in Peru.

The unnamed filly was bought for $45,000 by Stud Harem from the consignment of Haras Los Azahares. The filly isthe second foal out of the unraced Horse Chestnut mare Flatslittlesis who hails from the female family of dual Grade 1 winner Sabin. She is from the final Kentucky crop of the former Aidan O'Brien-trained Powerscourt, whose Group 1 tally included victoryin the 2005 Tattersalls Gold Cup.

The son of Sadler's Wells was sold to stand at the Jockey Club of Turkey in 2010.

All of the 18 youngsters offered in the catalogue sold for a turnover of $408,500 and an average price of $22,694.
