Sa Suffit makes his British hurdling debut today at Carlisle

Chance of Carlisle double for half-brothers

TWO half-brothers go to Carlisle today with the chance to make it one to remember for the Proud To Be Scottish Partnership, who own both horses. The Pertemps Handicap Hurdle Series Qualifier at 3.45 sees useful chase Sa Suffit make his British hurdling debut.

The eight-year-old son of Dolpour came from France with hurdles form but was sent straight over fences by trainer James Ewart. His dam, Branceilles, was unplaced in two starts on the Flat in France. Sa Suffit is her second foal, and Plus Jamais, who makes his debut in the bumper, is her fifth.

Plus Jamais is also trained by Ewart and is from the third crop of Candian-bred son of Quest For Fame, Caballo Raptor. He would be a first UK winner for the sire, who has had one winner in Ireland, the Willie Mullins-trained Raptor who took a Punchestown hurdle on Jan 30 on his Irish debut.
