LAST year's Kentucky Oaks heroine Plum Pretty eased to a comfortable victory in Friday's Grade 1 Apple Blossom Handicap at Oaklawn Park.

Plum Pretty is one of seven Group or Grade 1 winners for Darley America stallion Medaglia D'Oro, a paternal grandson of Sadler's Wells via El Prado.

The other top-flight winners by Medaglia D'Oro, whose fee at Jonabell Farm in Kentucky this year is $100,000, are Champagne D'Oro, C S Silk, Gabby's Golden Gal, Passion For Gold, Rachel Alexandra and Warrior's Reward.

Only Passon For Gold and Warrior's Reward of that tally are male, and Medaglia D'Oro has excelled as a sire of fillies: 22 of his 29 stakes winners are female.

Plum Pretty was bred by Silent Indy Stables and DDS Stables out of the unplaced A.P. Indy mare Liszy, a half-sister to stakes winner Gold Case. Her granddam is Alcibiades Stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Silent Account.

The Bob Baffert-trained filly was not sold at $100,000 at the 2009 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga yearling sale.
