Galileo's Quest For Peace wins Lenebane

CHAMPION sire Galileo was represented by his 89th stakes winner on Monday evening when his son scored in the Listed Lenebane Stakes over 1m4f at Roscommon on his first start in black-type company.

Quest For Peace, a three-year-old colt trained by Aidan O'Brien, won by one and a quarter lengths from the Aga Khan homebred filly Haziyna (by Halling), with Banksters Bonus (Big Bad Bob) in third.

Quest For Peace, a four-length maiden winner at Leopardstown last time out, holds a host of top entries including the Royal Whip Stakes, the Great Voltigeur Stakes, the Irish Champion Stakes and the Irish St Leger.

Bred by Macquarie, he is the first foal out of the Danehill Dancer mare Play Misty For Me, a 6f winner at two on her only start and a half-sister to Goffs Fillies' Million heroine Minor Vamp (Hawk Wing).

Quest For Peace is the onlyrunner in Britain or Ireland bred on the Galileo-Danehill Dancer cross, but offspring of Galileo out of mares by Danehill Dancer's sire Danehill, including Frankel, Golden Lilac and Roderic O'Connor, have harvested big races this season.

Galileo stands at Coolmore in County Tipperary at a private fee.
