PLANTEUR (4 c Danehill Dancer - Plante Rare by Giant's Causeway)

Breeder: Dayton Investments Ltd in Ireland

DANEHILL Dancer has developed into a leading sire from humble beginnings, rising from a first year fee of Ir4,000gns to a high of €115,000 in 2007 and 2008. His current fee at Coolmore is €75,000.

His latest star, Planteur, is from the stallion's ninth crop and his 15th Group 1 winner overall.

Danehill Dancer is primarily an influence for speed but Planteur hails from an excellent middle-distance Wildenstein family and stays 1m4f. The second Group/Grade 1 winner out of a mare by Giant's Causeway following the top-class American filly Evening Jewel, Planteur is a half-brother to minor winner Parlement and out of an unraced half-sister to French Group 2 winners Pushkin and Policy Maker.

His second dam, the Lear Fan mare Palmeraie, is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Peinture Bleue, who later found fame as the dam of the 1997 Arc hero Peintre Celebre, while further back, it is the family of dual champion filly Pawneese, who defeated colts when taking the 1976 King George.

Plante Rare has a two-year-old filly by Dylan Thomas named Pretty Please and a yearling colt by Westerner.
