Plantation Stud mares set sale ring alight

PLANTATION STUD collected 811,000gns for four horses in a profitable quarter of an hour of trading in today's opening session of the Tattersalls December breeding stock sale.

After selling Three Wishes, a Sadler's Wells half-sister to Grade 2 winner Beautyandthebeast, for 3,000gns to Crispin de Moubray, and Little Firefly, a Danehill half-sister to Listed winner Antinnaz, for 18,000gns to Emerald Bloodstock, Plantation Stud's four-strong consignment reached a crescendo with their last two lots to be offered.

First came Tu Eres Mi Amore, a placed sister to Listen from the outstanding producing family of Henrythenavigator and Saffron Walden, to name only a few of the outstanding performers to have emerged from the dynasty.

The eight-year-old daughter of Sadler's Wells, who was offered in foal to Plantation Stud stallion Araafa, was knocked down to German stud Gestut Fahrhof for 330,000gns.

Next through the ring came Fame And Glory's sister Yummy Mummy, a maiden winner over 1m2f in Ireland at three last year. She was the subject of a protracted bidding duel between Sea The Stars' owner Christopher Tsui's bloodstock adviser John Clarke and agent John Warren.

It was Warren who came out on top, but he needed to go to 460,000gns to secure the daughter of Montjeu, who is carrying to Conduit's sire Dalakhani.
