Virtual retired to Cheveley Park Stud

VIRTUAL, game winner of this season's Lockinge Stakes, has been retired and will stand at Cheveley Park Stud in Newmarket next season.

Cheveley Park's homebred son of Pivotal retires as the winner of five races and £336,879 in prize-money. As well as defeating the likes of Twice Over, PacoBoy and Aqlaam in the Lockinge Stakes, Virtual captured a pair of Listed races as a three-year-old and also ran third in this year's Prix Jacques le Marois and Prix du Moulin.

"We are delighted to add Virtual to our stallion portfolio for 2010, a three-parts brother by Pivotal to the ill fated Group 2 Coventry Stakes winner Iceman, whose first crop were very well received, making up to 70,000gns at this year's yearling sales," said Chris Richardson, managing director of Cheveley Park.

"Virtual has competed at the highest level throughout the season, and showed tremendous resolution and consistency, as highlighted when he won the Group 1 Juddmonte Lockinge Stakes at Newbury."

A three-parts brother to Iceman, whose first crop race next season, Virtual is out of the Listed-placed Exit To Nowhere mare Virtuous and a descendant of Cheveley Park's foundation mare Exclusive Order. His family includes the Group 1-winning milers Entrepreneur and Exclusive as well as recent E. P. Taylor Stakes heroine Lahaleeb.

A fee for Virtual will be released at a later date.
