Pivotal filly out to enhance reputation

HARASIYA bids to enhance her glowing reputation in the Group 3 Silver Flash Stakes (6.45) at Leopardstown today, following her impressive maiden win at the same venue last month.

Trained by John Oxx for her owner-breeder the Aga Khan, the filly should certainly handle the testing conditions being by Pivotal. The sire's progeny have been performing particularly well during the recent wet spell - last week he sired the Listed winner Poet and he appeared as the damsire of the July Cup winner Mayson.

Harasiya is the third foal out of the Group 3-winning Xaar mare Harariya, who has already produced the 1m4f Listed scorer Hazarafa (a winner on soft ground) and the Group-placed performer Haziyna.

The Shadwell-bred Raawaq also puts her unbeaten record on the line, following a cosy maiden victory at the Curragh. The Dermot Weld-trained filly is by Invincible Spirit, sire of the July Cup winner Mayson, and is out Zaqrah, who failed to fire on the racecourse, but is a half-sister to the smart Group 3 winner Muqbil.

Aidan O'Brien has trained the last three winners of this race, including last year's unbeaten juvenile Maybe and is represented by Snow Queen. The daughter of Danehill Dancer, who is a sister to the Group 3 winner Carribean Sunset, finished fifth on debut behind another of today's rivals Reglisse.
