Record 37 two-year-old winners for Oasis Dream

OASIS Dream registered his 37th individual two-year-old winner of the season on Wednesday afternoon when Pezula Baywon the 7f maiden at Lingfield.

The colt's win means that Oasis Dream now holds the record of siring the most individual juvenile winners in a season, an accolade previously held by Danehill Dancer. One behind Oasis Dream on 36 two-year-old winners is Chapel Royal, a first crop sire formerly based at Ashford Stud in Kentucky.

While the likes of the Group 1-placed Visit and Jersey Stakes winner Aqlaam have flown the flag for the Juddmonte stallion in the three-year-old department, the son of Green Desert also has a strong 2009 Classic hope in Jean-Luc Lagardere winner Naaqoos.

Although Pezula Bay won by only a head, the manner of his victory marked him as a colt of serious potential.

The Jeremy Noseda-trained juvenile was sent off a warm order to oblige following his debut second at Kempton, and the result never looked in doubt as the colt cruised to take the lead just before the line.

A 45,000gns yearling purchase, Pezula Bay is a half-brother to the Listed-placed Easy Lover (Pivotal) and the second winner out of Easy To Love, a winning sister to 1999 Oaks heroine Love Divine.

Pezula Bay is a grandson of the Lordship Stud matriarch La Sky, and therefore from the family of Champion Stakes winner Legal Case as well as  St Leger winner Sixties Icon, a son of Love Divine who enters stud next season at Norman Court Stud.

Easy To Love has a yearling colt by Tiger Hill, who was retained for 10,000gns this year, and a filly foal by Cape Cross. She visited Nayef in 2008.
