Peddlers Cross win keeps Oscar in the spotlight

PEDDLERS CROSS  maintained Coolmore sire Oscar's high profile season with his comfortable victory in the Victor Chandler Morebattle Hurdle at Kelso.

The six-year-old's smooth Champion Hurdle prep came two weeks after a similar progression for the same sire'sOscar Whisky in the Welsh Champion Hurdle,

Peddlers Cross cost his owner Tim Leslie £100,000 at the Brightwells Cheltenham sale in April 2009 on the back of a promising point-to-point victory.

While the first two generations of his pedigree are noticably light on black-type - other than a third in an Abu Dhabi Listed race - Peddlers Cross' pedigree explodesinto life thanks to third dam Joking Apart.who was placed in the 1,000 Guineas and produced another talented Royal runner in Deadly Serious. She is dam of Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial winner Runyon, also a Group 1 winner in Australia.
