Goodricke to stand in Germany in 2010

GROUP 1-winning sprinter Goodricke will stand at Gestüt Ohlerweiherhof in western Germany next year. His fee in 2010 has been set at €4,000.

The son of Bahamian Bounty was bred by Red House Stud out of the Most Welcome mare Star, making him a full-brother to July Cup hero Pastoral Pursuits, who has made a strong start with his first crop of juveniles this year.

Purchased by Dick O'Gorman for 110,000gns as a yearling on behalf of Sheikh Mohammed, Goodricke was a dual winner at two, and progressed through the handicap ranks to finish second to Whipper in the Prix Maurice deGheest and land the Haydock Park Sprint Cup at three.

Goodricke stood his first season at Overbury Stud in Gloucestershire in 2007 and has spent the past two seasons at the Allevamento Fattoria Renaccino in Italy. His first two-year-olds hit the track in 2010.

Gestüt Ohlerweiherhof owner Michael Volz told galopp-online.de: "We are naturally very pleased to be standing a Group 1 winner of international repute.

"Goodricke's fastand precocious blood is likely to be an enriching addition to the families owned by German breeders."

Goodricke will stand at Ohlerweiherhof alongside Intendant and Touch Down.
