Meshaheer off the mark

PASCHMINA became the first winner sired by Meshaheer when she triumphed in a 6f claiming race at Maisons-Laffitte today.

The filly, who is out of the Namid mare Kiwi Pearl and hails from the family of Prix Dollar winner Dano-Mast, was bred by Madame A. Tamagni and is owned by Peter Brady.

She was purchased by her trainer Fabrice Cohen for €8,000 at the Arqana October yearling sale.

A full-brother to King Charlemagne and a $525,000 yearling, Meshaheer won the July Stakes and finished third in the Prix Morny at two. He stands at the Haras du Petit Tellier in France, at a fee of €4,000 in 2009.

Paschmina, one of around 17 two-year-olds to run for Meshaheer  this year, was also her sire's first runner.

The filly was breaking her maiden at the third time of asking, having finished sixth on her debut and second on her last run.
