Son of Starborough gains Group race recompense

OVERDOSE ended the European Pattern race season by claiming his eleventh win in succession in the Group 3 Premio Carlo e Francesco Aloisi over 6f at the Capannelle on Sunday.
Neither 10st 2lb nor heavy going could stop the Hungarian star who made all in his usual fashion to win by ten lengths from Black Mambazo.

It gave connections was some compensation for the disappointment of the false start and void race (which he won) won in the Prix de l'Abbaye.

The three-year-old son of Starborough is one of four winners out of the unplaced Warning mare Our Poppet - he is her only  stakes performer.

However, she is a daughter of Upend, winner of the St Simon Stakes-G3, and a half-sister to the Listed winner  Musicanna (Cape Cross) who twice finished third at Group 1 level, in the Sun Chariot Stakes and the Falmouth Stakes.

Overdose was bred by Graham and Di Robinson and was sold at the Tattersalls December Yearling Sale by Whatton Manor Stud for 2,000gns to Bratislavan owner Zoltan Micocski.
