Feathard Lady joins Schiaparelli first book

UNBEATEN Christmas Hurdle winner Feathard Lady has been covered this season by Overbury Stud new recruit Schiaparelli.

The 11-year-old daughter of Accordion is owned by Andrea and Graham Wylie’s Chesters Stud since being purchased for 270,000gns, a record-breaking sum for a jumps mare, at Doncaster in August 2007.

She has a three-year-old filly and two-year-old colt, both by Presenting, and has this year produced a first-crop daughter of triple Ascot Gold Cup hero Yeats.

Feathard Lady was trained by Colm Murphy to win all of her seven starts, climaxing with an impressive 12-length victory in the Christmas Hurdle at Sandown.

Schiaparelli, a five-time Group 1-winning son of Monsun and one of three German Classic-winning siblings along with Samum and Salve Regina, retired to Overbury Stud in Gloucestershire this year at a fee of £3,000.
