Minella Class provides
further joy for Mangan

MINELLA CLASS (6 g Oscar - Louisas Dream by Supreme Leader)

Breeder: Conna Stud

TWO days after breeding the winner of the Phil Sweeney Memorial Chase winner, Psycho, Grand National-winning trainer Jimmy Mangan was on the mark again, this time as the breeder of impressive Tolworth Hurdle winner Minella Class.

The gelding is yet another feather in the cap for Coolmore's leading jumps stallion Oscar, also the sire of recent Grade 1 winners Big Zeb, Peddlers Cross and Oscars Well. Saturday's victory by Minella Class pushed the son of Sadler's Wells into third behind King's Theatre and Presenting on the leading jumps sires' list.

His dam, Louisas Dream, is one of 15 mares based at Mangan's Conna Stud in County Cork. As with most of the breeder's stock, Minella Class was sold as a foal at the Tattersalls Ireland November National Hunt Sale, in his case for €28,000 to J. Mallen.

He was a significantly dearer acquisition by his present owners earlier this year when, thanks to a bumper win at Naas, hewas knocked down for £95,000 to Highflyer Bloodstock at the Brightwells Cheltenham April National Hunt Sale.

Minella Class is the third foal and only winner out of Louisas Dream, an unplaced half-sister to Galway Plate thirdCool Running. Further back, it is the family of popular jumper Marlborough.

Louisas Dream has a three-year-old colt by Westerner and a yearling filly by Robin Des Pres.
