ORTENSIA (7 m Testa Rossa - Aerate's Pick by Picnicker)

Bred by L D Rhodes in Australia

TESTA Rossa sired just one Pattern winner - Blue Chagall - during his three seasons shuttling to Haras du Petit Tellier in France but it is a very different story in Australia where he is one of Vinery's most sought after stallions.

The son of Perugino is the sire of 41 stakes winners, three of whom - Ortensia, Rostova and Testafiable - have scored at Group 1 level. A multiple 5-7f Australian Group 1 winner in Australia himself, he stands for A$33,000 (£21,679/€27,375) at Vinery.

Ortensia is the best of five foals of racing age out of Aerate's Pick, an unraced daughter of Picnicker (by Snippets) who is a sister to Australian Group 3 winner Intelligent Star.

BLAINE (c Avonbridge - Lauren Louise by Tagula)

Bred by Toby Barker in Britain

LAUREN Lousie changed hands for just 800gns to John Barnard in 2005 but subsequent events have shown that she was an inspired buy.

Now owned by Toby Barker, the winning Tagula mare is the dam of two stakes winners - Bogart and Blaine - from her first three three foals and her yearling colt by Myboycharlie is sure to be in demand when he comes up for sale at this year's Tattersalls October Sale.

Like Blaine, Bogart was a quick juvenile for Kevin Ryan and enjoyed his finest moment last season when successful in the Redcar Two-year-old Trophy. Thanks to his exploits, Blaine was one of the standouts of last year's Book 3 of the Tattersalls October Sale when selling for 52,000gns to Mocklershill. He was resold at the DBS Breeze-up Sale this April for £100,000 to Stephen Hillen.

Blaine becomes the third Group winner for the Prix de l'Abbaye hero Avonbridge. The son of Averti, who stands at Whitsbury Manor Stud, is also the sire of the Group 2-winning 2yo Temple Meads.

York: Sky Bet Strensall Stakes (Group 3), 1m1f, 3yo+

DUBAI PRINCE (4 c Shamardal - Desert Frolic by Persian Bold)

Bred by Miss Eithne Hamilton

DUBAI Prince becomes Shamardal's 12th individual stakes winner this year. Others include the Group 1-winning pair Sagawara and Crackerjack King.

Dubai Prince was bought as a foal at Tattersalls for 48,000gns by  John Ferguson. He showed great potential as a two-year-old when landing the Group 3 Killavullen Stakes for Dermot Weld, but did not reach the heights expected after a switch to Newmarket-based Mahmood Al Zarooni. However, this victory proves that he still retains much of the ability he had shown at two.

He is the eighth foal out of the Persian Bold mare Desert Frolic, a half-sister to the Champion Stakes hero Storming Home, who was a prolific winner between 1m3f and 1m5f. She has produced five winners, including Listed-placed pair Jakarta Jade and Cadre.

Further back, it is the family of It's In The Air, who was crowned the champion three-year-old filly in America thanks to victories in the Alabama Stakes and Delware Oaks.
